America's Immigration Crisis - What You Can Do About It

Article by Frosty Wooldridge

January 6, 2004

America is in trouble. Look across our nation. It's quiet, like the stillness before a tornado when birds stop singing. Those who see 'it' coming are in the minority. The 'it' is a massive whirlwind of illegal aliens funneling into our country.

You can 'feel' it while listening to the evening news. You shake your head in disbelief at what's happening around the world. In the Middle East, bombers strive for martyrdom on busses full of innocent people. Iraq can't help itself, but we're dying trying to save them.

Back in the United States, who imagined a $6.92 trillion national debt? Who is at the helm of this Titanic, anyway?

This nation is in the midst of profound almost diabolical change. People mumble their fears concerning change and in this case, not positive change. What is positive about California with a budget crisis at $38 billion that explodes without solution? What can be good when that state suffers eternal gridlock, escalating ethnic violence in its schools and urban gangs dominating entire sections of cities? The Golden State's problems are so overwhelming that 800,000 Californians fled last year. Ironically, today, more Californians live in Idaho than native Idahoans.

On the Border States, illegal immigrant shantytowns, called 'colonias', grow steadily. The New York Times reported, "…rusted trailers and shacks nailed together from tar paper and packing pallets without toilets…with mounds of uncollected trash that attracts rats…the lack of sanitation has polluted the water underground to the point that many inhabitants are literally drinking their own wastes. These Third World colonias possess hepatitis, dysentery, skin rashes, tuberculosis, lice and the potential for a cholera epidemic.

Since their appearance in the Lone Star State ten years ago, these Mexican slums on American soil have spread from Brownsville, Texas to San Diego, California. According to the Times, "The 1988 population of border colonias reached 185,000. The total in 1995 was 500,000. They will reach 20 million by 2021." They represent a growing bio-terrorist threat to all of us.

In every corner and classroom in America, our country is inundated with foreigners who are incompatible with our culture, health standards and way of life-and they are here illegally. What is good about what they bring us such as 'female genital mutilation' as a normal practice for subjecting their women to such barbaric abuse? What is good about thousands of new strains of tuberculosis, leprosy, hepatitis and Chagas Disease they bring us? What is good about the $55 billion they send back to their home countries, yearly?

I recount several 'realities' about the Third World, having traveled extensively through much of it: It is so hopeless that nothing can help it. Its illiteracy is so profound that nothing can change it. It is so destitute and miserable that no amount of aid or money will better it. Trying to save the Third World is like trying to empty the Pacific Ocean with a teaspoon.

What can you do? Our only hope is relentless activism. You've got to start writing, talking and acting. It matters little whether you are liberal, conservative, libertarian or a multi-cultural idealist. On a sobering environmental note, this country cannot and will not sustain an added 200 million people at mid century. But that's where we're headed.

We need a massive citizen rebellion like the Boston Tea Party against the dispossession of our country by this immigrant invasion. We must challenge George Bush by an enormous public outcry to secure our borders with Mexico. We must flood our Congressional representatives with angry calls and letters--relentlessly. We must raise a national disobedience of the McCain-Feingold Act and other unconstitutional outrages imposed by judicial dictatorship. We must stop Mexican ID cards, the Dream Act, arrest employers who hire illegals, enforce RICO Laws, and finally, we must enact a 10 year 'TIME OUT' immigration moratorium in order to get our language, schools and country back together. Let the rest of the world manage its own affairs.

This crisis is so critical that if we don't get it stopped within two, maybe three years, we won't be able to stop it. It will whip through our country with as much destruction as the biggest tornado that's ever hit Oklahoma. All the kings horses and all the kings men, won't be able to put the United States back together again. It's up to you to prevent it.
